After Jen Psaki’s resignation, Fox News contributor Peter Doocy left White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tripping on her first official day behind the mic.

What’s the subject? Inflation, as well as President Joe Biden’s contention that hiking corporation taxes will assist to alleviate the continuing economic crisis.

Doocy asked Jean-Pierre a softball question on a tweet Biden sent out last week, “How does raising taxes on corporations reduce inflation?”

However, the new press secretary appeared to be ignorant that Biden had sent such a tweet, wondering if Doocy was referring to a specific post.

Jean-Pierre bungled her way through reciting Democratic talking lines on taxes and companies paying their fair share when Doocy told her that Biden’s official Twitter account established such a connection between corporate taxes and inflation last week.

“But how does raising taxes on corporations lower the cost of gas, the cost of a used car, the cost of food for everyday Americans?” Doocy questioned again when Jean-Pierre failed to respond.

Doocy then posed his question a third time, this time with Jeff Bezos’ criticism. But, once again, Jean-Pierre failed to answer the issue, instead attacking Bezos and regurgitating disproved deficit reduction talking points.

Larry Summers, who has been a harsh critic of the Biden administration during the inflation crisis, said on Monday that he agrees with Biden that raising corporation taxes will help to lower inflation.
