President Joe Biden, according to Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-NY, does not have a strategy to address the statewide infant formula shortage.

During a news conference with fellow House Republican colleagues, she delivered her remarks.

The Associated Press stated that the lack of formula was caused by continuous supply problems compounded with a recent safety recall.

According to the news site, the epidemic caused labor, transportation, and raw material difficulties, all of which affected the formula sector. Those who stocked during COVID-19 lockdowns also added to the inventory shortage.

Abbott Nutrition recalled several major brands of powdered formula and closed its Sturgis, Michigan factory in February.

“There was an article just today about families having to drive hours to access stores that have formula,” Stefanik added. “Consider how much petrol costs for low-income families.

She further stated that Joe Biden has no plan at all. She believes that the White House knows about the shortage but chose to ignore the obvious issue and laughed at it. She also stated that as a mother, this issue has hit home hard. She has a 9-month old son and is formula fed. This is why she personally knew that shelves are empty of formula milk even in the upstate New York.

“So today, House Republicans are here to press the FDA and the Biden administration to act on this shortfall, which should have been anticipated months ago. Biden, on the other hand, has continued to blame others. Think about this: children — babies — have been put to bed hungry while parents are desperately trying to find alternative formulas that are often difficult to procure. This is not a Third-World country. This should never happen in the United States of America.”
